What is RadioApp?

RadioApp brings together over 350 Australian local and national radio stations in one easy-to-use app. Listen on your phone, in your car or through a smart speaker.

RadioApp contains loved and well known Australian audio brands such as Nova, Smooth, Triple M, Hit Network, KIIS, Gold and Tapt Media stations such 2GB, 3AW, 6PR & 4BC.

Whether you’re in the big city or regional Australia, RadioApp is your live and local connection to your community and news of the day.

Is RadioApp free to use?

Yes! RadioApp is entirely free to use. However, we are ad-supported so although we do not contain any on-screen advertising, you will hear ads from time to time on the stations you listen to which means we can continue to provide a great streaming service for our users.

Why do I need an account to use RadioApp?

We get you to set up an account so we can provide a more tailored and personalised experience to you.

For example, we ask for your postcode during the sign up process so we can show you the stations in your local area for repeated, easy access.

By creating an account, you can also save your favourite stations so when you come back to the app you can pick up where you left off.

What devices can I listen on?

RadioApp is available on a range of platforms and devices.

You can listen via:

  • Mobile App (on iOS, Android & Samsung Galaxy Store)
  • In-Car (via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Android Automotive)
  • Home Smart Speakers (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant/Gemini & Sonos)

With support for Chromecast & AirPlay from the mobile app to your connected device.

Why can’t I pause or rewind the radio or listen to older shows in RadioApp?

Music licensing rules in Australia prevent us from offering the ability to offer pause and rewind functionality, sorry!

What radio stations are on RadioApp?

You can stream majority of the commercial radio stations across Australia and non commercial radio networks such as the ABC & SBS. RadioApp has an extensive range of FM, AM & DAB+ stations from all different formats such as Talkback, Sports, News, Entertainment and Music.

Check out the Find A Station section to search for an extensive list of stations based on name, location or genre.

I can’t find my favourite local station on this app. Why aren’t all Australian radio stations on RadioApp?

RadioApp brings together over 350 Australian commercial radio stations in addition to stations from the ABC & SBS. We are always adding more Australian radio stations to the app so keep an eye out for new stations.

Why are community radio stations not on RadioApp?

RadioApp is operated by Commercial Radio & Audio, the industry body for Commercial Radio in Australia. At this stage, we only include commercial radio stations, with the exception of ABC & SBS.

If you would like to stream community radio stations, you can check out the Community Radio Plus app which is run by The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, the equivalent industry body for community radio in Australia.

Why do you insert a radio ad into the start of a station live stream?

This is not something done by RadioApp and doesn’t happen for all stations. The insertion of an advertisement at the start of a stream is done by individual stations on occasion and is outside of our control. This occurs with listeners not just on RadioApp but wherever else they may be listening to that station online.

Will you put radio station podcasts in the app?

We do not have any immediate plans to add podcasts to RadioApp.

RadioApp is well supported across a range of existing and new in-car dashboards and operating systems.

CarPlay and Android Auto (Phone projection)

You must have RadioApp installed on your iOS or Android device and connected to your car dashboard in order to use the app on your car dashboard.

RadioApp is available to download via the Google Play Store for Automotive, Harman Ignite Store and Appning App Stores. Availability can differ between manufacturer and model so check with your manufacturer!
